Who runs this site

This site is operated personally by Melih Bektaş, an independent travel and outdoor content creator based in Zonguldak, Türkiye. Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK, Law No. 6698), he is the data controller for any personal data processed through this site.

What this site collects

The site is built as a static personal portfolio. It does not run a server-side database, does not log visitors, does not run analytics scripts, and does not place advertising or tracking pixels.

The only data interactions are:

• Browser local storage on your device — used to remember (a) your selected language and (b) whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. This data never leaves your device.
• Google Fonts — the four typefaces used on the site are loaded from Google's content delivery network. When your browser requests a font file, your IP address and the referring page are visible to Google. See Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
• Newsletter form (if you choose to subscribe) — your email address, transmitted to the email service provider configured at the time of subscription. This is the only personal data actively collected, and only with your explicit submission.
• YouTube thumbnail — the featured film's preview image is loaded from img.youtube.com. Like Google Fonts, your IP is visible to Google when this image loads.

Cookies

This site uses no tracking cookies. The browser localStorage entries described above are functional storage — they make the site work the way you expect — and are kept on your device only.

Legal basis for processing

For visitors in the European Union (under GDPR), the lawful bases are:

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for newsletter subscription.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for loading fonts and images necessary to display the site.

For visitors in Türkiye (under KVKK), the bases are: explicit consent (açık rıza) for newsletter subscription; legitimate interest of the data controller (meşru menfaat) for site functionality.

Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and equivalent provisions of GDPR Articles 15–22, you have the right to:

• Know whether your personal data is being processed
• Request information about how it is processed and to whom it has been disclosed
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your data when the basis for processing no longer applies
• Object to processing that produces an adverse effect on you
• Lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or your local EU supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, email partnership@melihbektas.com. Requests are answered within 30 days, in Turkish or English.

Third parties

No data is sold, shared, or transferred for commercial purposes. The only third parties that receive technical information are:

Data retention

Local storage stays on your device until you clear browser data. Newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe (one click in any email). Standard server logs are typically retained 30 days by the hosting provider.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). No data is knowingly collected from such users.

Changes to this policy

Any material change will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For substantive changes affecting active newsletter subscribers, notice will be sent by email.

Site, statik bir kişisel portfolyo olarak inşa edilmiştir. Sunucu tarafında bir veritabanı çalıştırmaz, ziyaretçi logu tutmaz, analitik script'i çalıştırmaz ve reklam veya takip pikseli yerleştirmez.

Tek veri etkileşimleri şunlardır:

• Tarayıcı yerel depolama — cihazınızda (a) seçtiğiniz dil ve (b) çerez bildirimini kapatıp kapatmadığınız hatırlanır. Bu veri cihazınızdan asla çıkmaz.

Veri saklama süresi

Yerel depolama, tarayıcı verilerini siz temizleyene kadar cihazınızda kalır. Bülten e-postaları, aboneliğinizi sonlandırana kadar (her e-postada tek tıkla mümkündür) tutulur. Standart sunucu logları hosting sağlayıcı tarafından genellikle 30 gün saklanır.

Çocuklar

Bu site 13 yaşın altındaki kullanıcılara (AB'de 16 yaşın altı) yönelik değildir. Bu yaş grubundan bilerek veri toplanmaz.

Politika değişiklikleri

Önemli değişiklikler bu sayfanın üstündeki "son güncelleme" tarihinin değiştirilmesiyle yansıtılır. Aktif bülten abonelerini etkileyen esaslı değişiklikler ayrıca e-posta ile duyurulur.
